The Ropes

The Ropes, poems to hold on to

A young John Hegley

is a poetry book aimed at young people but it could be read by anybody. With 36 newly-commissioned poems, from poets, rappers and songwriters plus two guest editor introductions from John Hegley (in the picture above, aged 18) and Sophie Hannah, it reflects on life today with an unflinching, wide-ranging eye.

It’s a pocket-sized handbook for all those moments when only poetry will do.

What they say about it…

‘You could take it anywhere, for whenever you might need the words as a guide or simply to muse over and enjoy …it's very difficult to find a flaw with this anthology. After reading The Ropes, I have a newfound interest in poetry.’
